ETNIK

Born in Stockholm (Sweden), he works and studies in Florence.
He currently lives in Tuscany and works between Pisa and Florence.

Designer/drawer/artist all along, he starts as a writer in the early '90s, moving in Tuscany area first and then throughout Italy, with many tours in which the contacts become very important.

Its production ranges from large scale murals with elaborate concepts, to productions on canvas and sculptures, adding to the rules of lettering, the starting point of all his work, consisting of a 20 years imaginary of study and development of his own style.
Since the beginning the “wild-style” was a must to understand and study a very complex world, both graphically and as a lifestyle, his vitality in producing takes him to try and add new ways, ideas, concepts taken from everything that serves to experience a personal style.

Twenty years of painting in suburban areas, looking for new spaces, trying to discover a new point of view of the city very different from the rest of citizenship, leads him to think much about the ''City'' and set it as the main subject of his pictorial representation.

Urban agglomerates and geometric masses intersect violently on opposed plans and different points of view, aimed at representing a cement more and more constricting and an equilibrium even more precarious in the daily lifetime of everyone.
A natural point of view, which does not much represent the nature but her attacker...

The continuous personal evolution, also concerned with the artistic phenomenon “street”, leads him to live very different and unexpected experiences, like experiments of workshops and teaching, collaborations with public and private, attending to exhibitions of various kinds.

Among these, the most significant examples are:
- the restyling of train stations: in St. George in Cremano (Neaples) for the project named “Circumwriting”; the stations of Moncalieri (Turin) and Nuovo Salario (Rome) with the artist Blu for the project called “Q-Art”, meant as the first artistic intervention within the Italian capital city in 2006;
- artistic works on public buildings/events: the new University in Pisa and sheds at Fiat Melfi; the Politeama theatre in Cascina (Pisa); the headquarters of “Officine Giovani” of the municipality of Prato; the palace of sport in Grosseto for the World Junior athletics of 2003; a mural in V. Fusi square in Turin for the 50 'anniversary of European Union;
- arts private commissions: some works in film and advertising at Cinecitta studios, in Rome; a live painting for the “Theatre of Silence”, a project starring the famous tenor Andrea Bocelli in his hometown, Lajatico (Pisa);
- interventions of urban renewal: within the city of Florence, a few urban redevelopment in collaboration with Quadrifoglio, a company which deals with, municipalities and educational institutions, and much more...
